DEEP IN THE CANYON - Owen's River Gorge

Last weekend we set off on the first official STATIC road trip.  With the bags packed, crash pads in the truck-bed and the dog in the back seat, we drove 7 hours up to Mammoth Lakes, CA. We couldn't be more stoked to climb with our friends, Tammy, Tucker, Mal & Tyler (check them out on our Ambassador's page).   First stop, Owen's River Gorge.  

 As we woke up to hazy day, we packed the gear and drove to Owen's River Gorge.  Luckily as we pulled up into the parking lot after a dusty drive through the woods, the sun was out, friends were smiling and the tone was set for a good day of climbing.   We set out down the rocky path into the Gorge with the crew.  Tyler and Mallory, who have been close friends and ambassadors lead the first couple warm up routes.   Tammy and Tucker followed. 

As the day went on, we couldn't have asked for anything better.  A great day with friends, some awesome photos and some beers at the top of the hike out to celebrate.   

If you've never had a chance to climb in this area of California, add it to your list. Bishop in general is amazing and the people are just as kind.  Stop by Wilson's on your way in for all your rock climbing needs. Amazing crew and staff.
